Mini Pig Vacation!
18 AprThis mini pig has gone down south. Well to the south Bay Area that is.
As a pre-birthday treat I got to go on a mini vacation to my grand-pig parent’s.
They aren’t as tech savvy as my mama so I’ve been having technology withdrawals this past week. After much oinking, squealing, stomping and showing them my doe eyes, I was able to convince them to take me to the library so I could use a computer and reconnect with the world!!
My hooves are accustomed to a more ergonomic keyboard so my post will have to be brief. Good news is, my g-pa has been capturing me via 18mm in the backyard so I’ll do my mini pig best to get him to upload it.
Cutest Mini Pig Mash-up Video
9 AprAs I was perusing my daily mini pig news digest I came across this adorable video of the cutest mini pigs and was shocked to see that I made the round-up!!!
Mini Pig to the Rescue
8 AprSorry for my absence these past few days. My mom has been a sicky poo with a stomach infection and I’ve been nursing her back to health.
She’s now a healthy broad (thanks to my cuddles, kisses and ability to transform into a hot water bottle with four legs) and I can get back to my usual activities. Like talking to you all 🙂
Mini Pig in Rainboots
4 AprRain is an unfortunate part of San Francisco living. This little piggy detests puddles so naturally I went on my laptop and ordered some galoshes. The rainboots came from England and were meant to fit a small Paddington Bear.
I thought they made things smaller overseas but these boots were far too big and certainly not made for mini pig walking 😦 Considered ordering a full rain ensemble like this and then remembered yellow isn’t my color.
So on rainy days like today I am forced to stay inside. Does anyone know where I can get some rainboots in my size??
Mini Pig: After Dark
2 AprMini pig’s do not adhere to bedtimes. At least that’s what I tell my human when I get a burst of energy late night that only a walk around the block will cure.
As much as I adore the sunshine, the moonlight has it perks too.
Uninterrupted exploring.
Rooting undetected in flowerbeds.
And WALKING with no leash!!!
Being an urban city pig, the streetlights illuminate my path and are like giant nightlights so I don’t get scared of the dark. Do you ever dare to dance (or prance, or walk) in the moonlight?
Mini Pig x2: Introducing Tom Sawyer
1 AprAll of my mini pig wishing, hoping and praying has paid off; this little piggy is getting a mini pig sibling!
Introducing my little pig brother, Tom Sawyer. I haven’t met the oinker yet but I’m already head over hooves in love with him. I’m excited to show him the ropes around San Francisco and to have someone to cuddle with every night. The whole sharing thing is not my strong suit but mom keeps telling me “sharing is caring.” Now you all will get to see the new adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn!!
P.S.
Raising a Mini Pig: It Takes a Village
28 MarMy mini pig friend Cocco recent post about needing a pigsitter and it got me thinking about all of mine.
I’m a lucky fella who lives a life of luxury while my Mom works hard to bring home the bacon.
Traveling is part of her job so I get the piggy privilege of having my human friends take care of me while she is away.
I like to think of them as mini vacations, where I get super spoiled, eat all the treats I can and get to be the center of attention.
In fact, I make sure to be an ultra-good, mini pig for my pigsitters, so they will want to come back again soon.
Sometimes my madre will go on vacations that aren’t pig friendly so I get to go stay with my grandpig parent!!!
He is soo cool. Once he let me eat (on accident) an entire box of cheerios in one afternoon. When I’m there I get to play with my dalmatian cousin Riley. And by play I mean I take over his backyard and he doesn’t give me any barks about it.
I also absolutely adore my cousin Peyton who is the best at translating what my oinks mean.
Those are a few of the phenomenal humans I have in my life who have warmed this mini pig’s heart (and belly). Who takes care of you when your humans are away?
Getting My Grub On
27 MarFeeding time is the best!
I like to eat, eat, eat, tomatoes and lettuce!!
I like to eat, eat, eat, cucumbers and spinach!!
Here’s a video of my specially prepared meal (thanks mom!)
What’t on your plate?
Mini Pig Returns to Fort Mason
23 MarToday I went to Fort Mason and made about 100 new friends.
I met several dogs, one dragon (Irish Mastiff) and didn’t see the tortoise.
I rooted in the grass, bathed in the sunshine while getting bellyrubs and mom gave me PINEAPPLE one of my most favorite fruits as a snack.
What are you up to this weekend?
Friday Finn: Mini Pig Park Perfection
22 MarDiscovering a park that’s mini pig friendly is a rare find.
Alta Plaza Park (also known as my backyard) is my favorite park on the planet.
It’s spacious enough that the dogs stay on their turf and don’t bother me when I’m picking dandelions.
Plenty of sunshine, the kiddles stay in the big cage (jungle gym) so they can look but not touch, which is just the way I like it.
Here’s a little taste of my paradise. Where do you like to play?
Mini Pig Feeding Time
21 MarMealtime is the most favorite part of this mini pig’s day.
As soon as I hear the stirring of my mini pig chow my hooves start to dance in delight.
My tail wags so fast it looks like a pinwheel spinning round and round. This makes my mom smile.
I try really, really, really hard to sit with all of my hooves planted on the ground but the exuberance inside me creates a motion beyond my control. This results in a happy dance of sorts.
Mini Pigs and Major Tantrums?
20 MarDon’t let the size of this mini pig fool you because I can get very loud.
So loud that it’s sometimes embarrassing. Lucky unlucky for my caretaker this hog has a good head on his miniature shoulders and doesn’t get embarrassed.
Fun fact, pigs can scream at 115 decimals. The decimal of a jet engine is 113.
I love being a little extraordinarily loud alarm clock for my mom. She says I sound like a walker from The Walking Dead. I vehemently disagree.
I’m blaming it on the terrible two’s because this mini pig has been throwing some MAJOR tantrums lately. I figure that with toddlerdom/turning three years old just around the corner I better milk my age for all it’s worth.
Friday Finn: Mini Pig Gear Favorites
15 MarBeing a mini pig (and a stubborn, strong-willed swine) it’s often hard for me to find pig gear that is to my liking. Especially since they are very few items made for pigs of my stature. My mom usually has to settle for hardware made for the lesser animal species (dogs and cats I’m lookin’ at you). I’ve liked grown accustomed to a few things, here are the goods that have earned the Huckleberry Finn stamp of approval:
My little blue house has a window so I can be on the lookout, a proper roof and a chimney so Santa can visit me. It’s soft and is spacious enough for me to fit in all 4 of my blankets. There’s also a nifty heating pad I use year-round so I’m always warm and toasty. Anyone know where my mom can get a similar house? This pet chateau is discontinued?
Collars are one of those necessary evils in life and I’m happy I convinced my mama that a harness was no longer necessary. This is my current one in rotation and I like that it is masculine yet colorful but not to the point where strangers start referring to me as a she.
I absolutely adore my new blue satchel for spring. It’s where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. My mom keeps calling it a tote bag but it’s not a purse, it’s a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
